A carbon monoxide detector (or transmitter) is a safety device that continuously measures CO — a colorless, odorless, and highly toxic gas. Because CO cannot be seen or smelled, only a sensor-based detector can alert you. The E2660-CO-NO2 adds another layer of protection by also tracking NO₂ — a harmful pollutant — making it especially valuable in enclosed or industrial spaces where combustion, chemical reactions, or exhaust may produce these gases.
Having a dual-gas transmitter ensures both worker safety and compliance with stringent environmental and occupational health standards.
When CO (or NO₂, depending on configuration) surpasses a preset threshold, the transmitter can trigger an external alarm — a loud buzzer or building alert — and optionally start ventilation. This immediate audible and/or system alert warns personnel promptly, even in noisy industrial settings.
A carbon monoxide detector/transmitter is specifically calibrated for CO (and in this model, NO₂). It does not detect natural gas (methane) or other combustible gases. Detecting natural gas requires a separate dedicated combustible-gas detector.
Carbon monoxide is dangerous because it binds to hemoglobin in the blood more strongly than oxygen. Even at low concentrations, CO exposure can reduce oxygen transport in the body, causing dizziness, headaches, nausea, or in severe cases — unconsciousness and death. Because CO is invisible and odorless, relying on human senses alone is risky. Only a properly calibrated carbon monoxide detector can reliably alert you in time.
In the UAE and across the GCC, many industrial, commercial, and infrastructure facilities — underground parking, boiler rooms, HVAC systems, laboratories, manufacturing plants — operate in enclosed or partly ventilated spaces. These environments may accumulate CO or NO₂ from machinery, combustion, or exhaust systems.
To meet high safety standards and protect personnel and assets, facility managers and HSE teams need reliable, dual-gas detection solutions. The E2660-CO-NO2 offers continuous CO and NO₂ monitoring with built-in automation compatibility — making it a smart, compliant choice for evolving industrial ecosystems in UAE, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and surrounding regions.
