A carbon monoxide detector (or transmitter) is a device that continuously monitors the air for CO — a colorless, odorless gas that can accumulate silently. When installed with a CO₂ sensor, it can also track carbon dioxide levels, which may rise in confined or poorly ventilated spaces. The E2660-CO-CO2 uses advanced sensors to detect both gases accurately. In industrial, lab, pharma, or cleanroom environments, such a dual-sensor transmitter ensures you stay ahead of potential safety hazards, safeguarding personnel and processes from invisible threats.
When CO concentration crosses a preset limit, the transmitter can trigger an external alarm — typically a loud buzzer or building alert — and/or activate ventilation systems. This ensures personnel are instantly alerted even in noisy or complex industrial sites.
A carbon monoxide detector (even paired with a CO₂ sensor) is designed specifically for CO and CO₂ gases. It does not detect natural gas (methane) or other combustible gases. Detecting natural gas requires a dedicated combustible-gas detector.
Carbon monoxide binds to hemoglobin in the blood more tightly than oxygen. Even small amounts can reduce oxygen transport — leading to headache, dizziness, impaired judgement, or worse. CO is invisible and odorless, so only a reliable detector can alert you to its presence.
In the UAE and broader GCC region, industries like aerospace maintenance, MRO, pharmaceutical labs, semiconductor fabs, and cleanrooms are growing rapidly. Many of these operate indoors, in controlled or enclosed environments. In such settings, CO or CO₂ build-up — from machinery, combustion, human occupancy, or HVAC — poses real risks to safety and process integrity. The E2660-CO-CO2 offers dual-gas detection, continuous monitoring, and seamless integration, helping HSE managers and facility teams maintain world-class safety standards and protect both people and sensitive operations.
