Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Service Engineer specializing in fixed and portable gas detection systems and sensors. The ideal candidate will have over five years of hands-on experience in the installation, commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting of a wide range of gas detection technologies. This role is critical to maintaining the operational readiness and compliance of our clients’ safety systems across the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning:
- Oversee and execute the complete installation and commissioning of fixed gas detection systems (including control panels, transmitters, and sensors) in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local safety regulations (e.g., ADNOC, EN, IEC standards).
- Perform site surveys and pre-installation checks to ensure compatibility and optimal system placement.
- Maintenance & Calibration:
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance (PM) and perform advanced troubleshooting and repair (CM) of all types of gas detectors (flammable, toxic, and oxygen).
- Perform precise calibration and bump testing using certified calibration gases and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Generate and maintain detailed service reports, calibration certificates, and maintenance logs.
- Technical Support & Training:
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to junior technicians and clients.
- Conduct formal training sessions for client personnel on the proper use, maintenance, and daily checks of their installed gas detection equipment.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), safety protocols, and UAE regulatory requirements.
- Manage service inventory, spare parts, and calibration gas consumption efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience as a Service Engineer working specifically with multi-brand fixed and portable gas detection systems and sensors (e.g., Crowcon, Honeywell, Dräger, MSA, Riken Keiki, etc.).
- Technical Skills:
- Expert-level knowledge of gas detection principles, sensor technologies (Catalytic Bead, Electrochemical, Infrared, PID), and sampling systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings.
- Proficiency in configuring and calibrating various field instruments and communication protocols (e.g., 4-20mA, HART, Modbus).
- Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid UAE Driving License.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Experience working in industrial environments (Oil & Gas, Marine, Manufacturing, HVAC) in the UAE is highly desirable.
